Montel Threatens Reporter

Talk show host Montel Williams reportedly threatened to blow up a reporter.

According to MSNBC, talk show host Montel Williams threatened a high school journalism intern. At a conference where Montel promoted programs offering free prescription drugs to poor families, the student reportedly asked Williams if he felt pharmaceutical companies would have less of an incentive for such programs if profits were not lucrative. Williams reportedly snapped at the teen afterwards. According to Joseph Cosey, a fellow worker at the paper, the following is what happened between Montel and Courtney Scott, the high school intern: "As we were preparing to film, Montel walked up with his bodyguard and got in Courtney Scott's face pointing his finger telling her 'Don't look at me like that. Do you know who I am? I'm a big star, and I can look you up, find where you live and blow you up'... At this time he was randomly pointing at all of us." According to AP and MSNBC, Montel Williams later released a statement apologizing to Scott and explaining his action as a reaction to a perceived slight against him: "I mistakenly thought the reporter and photographer in question were at the hotel to confront me about some earlier comments. I was wrong, and I apologize for my overreaction."
