Spice Girls Kick Off Reunion Tour

After months of preparation, the Spice Girls delivered a pulsating concert in Vancouver on Sunday night, kicking off their grand reunion tour for thousands of screaming fans.

David Beckham, the soccer-superstar husband of Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham, was among those in attendance as the lights came up at GM Place, revealing the Girls on individual go-go platforms, decked out in gold-and-bronze outfits by Roberto Cavalli. They immediately launched into their anthem, "Spice Up Your Life," to open the show, reports People.com.

The Girls have posted a number of photos from the show on their official Web site.

Reviews of the show were mixed, though most journalists gave the band credit for putting on a visual extravaganza - despite some individual flaws.

The Sun reported that Beckham "was her fabulous self" and even sang a few short solos; Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice) was the strongest singer; and Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) "looked just as bubbly and blonde as ever."

Also, Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) performed her solo hit remake of "It's Raining Men," and Melanie Brown (Scary Spice) showed off some post-Dancing with the Stars gyrations during her solo performance of Lenny Kravitz's "Are You Gonna Go My Way."

"Just as it was ten years ago, the show wasn't about great singing or dancing. But it was about great entertainment," the Sun concluded. "And the girls delivered the spice."

The tour continues Tuesday night in San Jose, Calif.
