Dyslexics Represent! In Business

In a new study, dyslexic Americans represent more than a third of successful entrepreneurs in the U.S.

Dyslexics are rocking the business world. In an article in the New York Times, 35% of small-business owners in a random sample identified as dyslexic. One hundred thirty-nine entrepreneurs were questioned, with the results showing a staggering presence of the disability within the business world. Professor Julie Logan of the Cass Business School conducted the survey. The results, though surprising were not as shocking as they could've been, as it has been shown in the past through previous surveys that dyslexics do have a noticeable presence in business. Some attribute it to the need of dyslexics to find other, creative and alternative routes in business and dealing with their fellow businessmen. Some also attribute it to finely honed skills in areas other than reading and writing, such as strong oral communication and alternative forms of delegation, among many other possibilities.
