J.K. Rowling handwritten novel sells for 4 million dollars
The Tales of Beedle the Bard exceeded all expectations, selling for nearly $4 million dollars, when it was expected to fetch around $100,000, reports seattlepi.com. The handwritten book, one of seven handmade copies, was bought by Amazon.com in a Sotheby's auction.
Craig Berman, speaking on behalf of Amazon.com said that the web giant wants to take the book on tour to libraries and schools, but did not give any specific, detailed plans. Neither did he give information on where the book will be stored. My guess is that it will be next to the Holy Grail, the pilot episode of Benny Hill and Dick Cheney's personality.
The other 6 copies of the book were given to people with close ties to the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter creator J.K.Rowling said.
Rowling also said she'd donate the profits from the "Tales of the Beedle Bard" novel to The Children's Voice camp
