Fallout from the Mitchell report continues

Orioles second baseman Brian Roberts comes clean

Bloomberg.com reports that All-star second baseman Brian Roberts admitted to using steroids once in 2003.

"I never used steroids, human growth hormone or any other performance-enhancing drugs prior to or since that single incident," the Orioles player admitted in a statement to the Baltimore Sun last night.

Larry Bigbie, Roberts' former teammate, informed George Mitchell of Roberts use of steroids.

Roberts was among some 80-plus players named in the Mitchell report, a report on the rampant use of steroid and human growth hormones in Major League Baseball.
