San Francisco Mayor To Wed Star: SF to become new Hollywood?
The mayor of San Francisco is getting ready to renounce bachelorhood. Reuters reports that Gavin Newsom is engaged to marry actress Jennifer Siebel. The slick young mayor of San Francisco became engaged to Siebel, 33, over the weekend. The two were vacationing in Hawaii. It is reportedly the second marriage for Newsom, 40, and the first for Siebel. Newsom brings a youthful charisma to the office of Mayor of the city of San Francisco, so the glamorous match is not a big change for Newsom. IMDB lists Siebel as a graduate both of Stanford as an undergraduate, and as a business school student. She is listed as a great sports aficionado in addition to being a fluent speaker of Spanish. She has had guest roles on such television shows as "The Proud Family," "Numb3rs," and "Strong Medicine." Newsom gained quick notoriety when he greenlighted legal recognition for same-sex marriages by ok'ing permits for the unions in San Francisco. His decision was later overruled by the State of California's Supreme Court. Newsom is a Democrat and eyes are turning towards the mayor and his possible future political ambitions. California governors and mayors are famously no strangers when it comes to national politics. Nancy Pelosi, a San Francisco House of Representatives member, is now the House Majority Leader.
