Jamie Lynn Defends Mother, Goes for GED

So her 26-year old was recently locked up in the psych ward of a hospital. So her other daughter is a pregnant 16-year old mother. Jamie Lynn still says her mother did a great job.

MSNBC reports that Spears is on the offensive towards those who would criticize her mother's maternal prowess. Last month, Lynne Spears's book on child-rearing was put on hold indefinitely.

Spears's book about child rearing could not have come at a worse time for the Spears clan, as eldest daughter and singer Britney Spears recently suffered what many characterized as a total meltdown at her Los Angeles home. Soon after, Britney's custody of her two young sons was completely revoked. Right before this mess, it was revealed that "Zoey 101" star and 16-year old Jamie Lynne Spears was pregnant by her boyfriend, Casey Aldridge. And it was her mother, Lynne Spears, who sold the story to the tabloids.

In a recent "OK!" magazine article, Jamie Lynn defends her mother's maternal skills, insisting that she did a good job bringing up her children. It was also recently reported that Jamie Lynn and her mother will be raising the child together. The Mirror reports that Jamie Lynn is working towards her GED, a equivalent to getting a high school degree.

Jamie Lynn told OK! magazine that she vows to be the best mother possible, "now that it's in my lap and that it's something I have to deal with, I'm looking forward to being the best mom I can be."
