Pulp Fiction co-writer arrested after car accident kills passenger
Roger Avery, co-writer of the film "Pulp Fiction", was arrested early Sunday in Ojai after he crashed his car and killed a passenger. It has been determined that he was intoxicated while driving. His wife, Gretchen, was in the car as well and suffered serious injuries.According to Los Angeles Times, Firefighters removed passenger Andreas Zadini, 34, from the vehicle and attempted to get him immediate medical attention. Zadini, from Italy, died at Ventura County Medical Center.
Avery was arrested based on suspicion of felony driving under the influence and booked into Ventura County Jail. He posted bail of $50,000 shortly after his booking.
Roger Avery won an Academy Award in 1995 for "Pulp Fiction" with director Quentin Tarantino. He has also earned recognition for his work on the film "Killing Zoe". Avery is more recently known for his efforts co-writing the film "Beowolf", which was released last year.
