Rap Star Lil Wayne Arrested

Rap singer Lil Wayne was arrested today on charges of drug possession. The rapper, who was awarded the title of Rapper of the Year in 2007 by the New Yorker, was stopped while his charter bus was stopped at a border patrol between Arizona and California.

Drug sniffing dogs at the border apparently smelled something, which later turned out to be drugs. Drugs on board the bus included marijuana, cocaine and ecstasy, along with a sum of money reportedly exceeding $20,000. Lil Wayne, the stage name of Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., was also in possession of a firearm. Carter was put on bail of slightly over $10,000.
