Celebrity Pals Defend Tom Cruise On Publication of Tell-All Tome
According to People.com, Adam Sandler, as well as other celebrities, are standing up for Tom Cruise after the publication of Andrew Morton's tell-all, "Tom Cruise, An Unauthorized Biography."
Said Sandler to People exclusively, "To see anyone's private life invaded and mocked like this is sickening. It's especially gross when it happens to a guy like Cruise, who's a great dad, a great husband, and a great friend."
Dustin Hoffman, Tom's co-star in "Rain Main," also defends his former co-star by stating, "Tom Cruise is an American and has the right to freedom of speech and freedom of religion."
Ben Stiller, who generally shies away from formal statements about other stars to the press, had this to say, "Imagine having a baby and people talking about it the way they did. People lose sight of the fact that Tom Cruise is actually a person. I feel for him."
Cruise has yet to give a formal statement regarding the book's publication. Neither has his wife, Katie Holmes. Morton said he had consulted with many of Tom's former colleagues prior to penning the book, and he stands by his words.
