Will Ferrell visits Ireland
Will Ferrell received the James Joyce award and gave a speech at University College Dublin in Ireland Wednesday night. Approximately 1,000 students attended the actor's speech.
According to Yahoo, Ferrell has spent the past two weeks traveling throughout Ireland with his father and brother. The family spent time discovering their family roots in County Longford.
The 40-year-old actor showed up to the University sporting an Irish rugby jersey, shorts and a cap. During a monologue lasting approximately 40 minutes, Ferrell commented on Ireland's national beer and its pub life.
The Joyce award is run by the university's Literary and Historical Society. Other public figures who have won this award include U.S. civil rights activist Jesse Jackson and former U.N. weapons inspector Hans Blix.
James Joyce is an author from Dublin who graduated from the university. He wrote his great work in Italy, Switzerland and France while he was an exile.
