Will Ferrell Honored With James Joyce Award

Actor Will Ferrell received the James Joyce award while in Ireland.

Popular actor and comedian Will Ferrell has another award to add to his impressive resume. Ferrell was awarded the James Joyce Award by University College Dublin in Ireland this week. The award, given by the University's Literary and Historical Society, has been awarded to a wide range of peoples, in recent years including Hans Blix and Jesse Jackson, according to FOX News. Ferrell is touring Ireland with some of his family, tracing his Irish heritage. Ferrell joked to the crowd while accepting the accolades: "As I perused my leather bound volumes of 'Ulysses,' 'Finnegans Wake,' 'Dubliners,' 'Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man,' standing in my mahogany library, a lot of feelings ran across my mind. Like: 'Damn I should have read these books.'" Ferrell entertained the crowd by describing things he cherished about Ireland and the interesting adventures he had been enjoying upon his visit. Ferrell also joked about his newfound commitment to Ireland: "I will... continue to drive on the left-hand side of the road. Will it be dangerous? Yes. Is it illegal? Highly.
