Giant Upset!!!!

New England Patriots run into New York traffic on road to perfection.

It's the greatest feeling in professional sports.

These are the words of New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress, spoken just moments after his team had just done the impossible. The Associated Press reports that the rag-tag, can't-win-the-big-one Giants upset the mighty-mighty New England Patriots 17-14, to win Super Bowl XLII, and prevent the Patriots from being the first team to go 19-0 in the NFL.

The Giants were a 12- point underdog coming into this game, which makes the upset even more incredible. The Patriots had gone through all season long, outscoring, and oftentimes embarrassing their opponents on their way to setting the NFL record for points scored on offense. They also set records when quarterback Tom Brady passed for his 50th touchdown pass, and wide receiver Randy Moss caught his 23rd touchdown pass, ironically against the Giants in the final regular season game. Well, it was definitely the Giants who had the last laugh, preventing the Pats from reaching immortal status, by taking the 18-0 record New England had coming into the Super Bowl, and making them leave with an 18-1 final mark.

"There's something about this team," Giants quarterback Eli Manning said. "The way we win games, and performed in the playoffs in the stretch. We had total confidence in ourselves. The players believed in each other."

The Giants also helped make a little history themselves. With the Colts, led by Eli's older (and by all counts, more famous) brother, Peyton, winning last year's Super Bowl, they become the first QB brothers to win consecutive Super Bowls for two different teams.

I guarantee this will be one tape the Pats won't want to watch again.
