Mrs. Governator Backs Obama

Maria Shriver supports Sen. Obama for the Democratic nomination.

The Associated Press is reporting that Maria Shriver, wife of Arnold "The Governator" Schwarzenegger, has endorsed Barack Obama for the Democratic nomination for president.

She told Obama supporters that California was "at the epicenter of change" and "I would ask you to go out, to follow your heart, to be proud that you're doing that, and remember that so goes California, so goes the nation."

Shriver, the first lady of California, and also member of one of the most famous families in the United States, the Kennedys, now joins her uncle, Mass. Senator Edward "Ted" Kennedy, and Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg, Ted's daughter, in support of Sen. Obama.

Sunday's event found Shriver joined by Schlossberg, Obama's wife Michelle and Oprah Winfrey.

"I'm proud to be standing here, not just with these women, but with all of you-different races, different age groups I'm sure, Democrats and independents alike-because you believe ... you believe in each and every one of yourselves, most importantly. And you believe that you have found someone who believes in you." Shriver said Sunday.
