Kate Beckinsale marries director Len Wiseman in intimate ceremony
Kate Beckinsale, the 31-year-old star of this weekend's monster smash "Van Helsing" had more to celebrate than a number at the box office, she was married to writer-director Len Wiseman, in what her publicist Troy Nankin calls an "intimate" ceremony on Sunday. After meeting on the set of Wiseman's 2003 sci-fi film "Underworld," the two were engaged in June 2003. It is the first marriage for both.
The couple tied the knot in a small but glamorous ceremony at Los Angeles' swank Bel-Air Hotel. The gathering included family and a few friends among them, fellow "Underworld" star Scott Speedman. Though few details are known about the wedding, it is confirmed that Beckinsale wore a classic Vera Wang gown. Lily, Beckinsale's 5-year-old daughter from a previous relationship with actor Michael Sheen, was the flower girl. Wiseman and Beckinsale are currently working together on a presently untitled sequel to "Underworld."
