Mills-McCartney Divorce Still No Deal

According to the Associated Press, the weeklong divorce hearing ended Monday without a final agreement. Judge Hugh Bennett has reserved his ruling and will spend several weeks working out a settlement.

Heather Mills was to settle for $108 million. Paul McCartney was not in court Monday, although he was in court all last week. He was likely rehearsing for the Brit Awards, the U.K. equivalent of the Grammys, which is to air this Wednesday, according to the British Press Association.

The couple married in 2002, four years after the death of McCartney's first wife, Linda. Mills is a former model who had her left leg amputated below the knee in a 1993 motorcycle accident. She became active in campaigning against land mines and was an animal rights activist.

The terms of the settlement will not be made public unless one of the parties chooses to disclose the details or the ruling is challenged in the court of appeal.
