Jackson’s Outlandish Demands
20-Feb-2008
Written by: Louise Robina Happe

Jackson’s demands prove too much for Grammys.

According to Metro, Michael Jackson missed out on being honored at last week's 50th Grammy Awards because his demands were too extreme.

Apparently, the 49-year-old was dropped from the ceremony after demanding that a special award, unique to him, and him alone, should be presented to the pop star, despite rumors that he was to be praised at the ceremony in the 25th year of his album, Thriller, anyway.

The New York Post claimed that Jackson had also requested to be referred to as the "King of Pop" a minimum of 30 times throughout the show, and that the entire event should be dedicated to his career.

Evidently, Jackson’s demands proved too excessive for his infamy.

His album, Thriller: 25th Anniversary Edition, did, however, gain the Top Pop Catalog chart with 166,000 copies.
