Stars Shine at Sunday’s Academy Awards

Celebrities look their best for the classic awards show Sunday evening at Kodak Theatre.
The Academy Awards is known as a time for actors and actresses to shine in the latest fashions, while being photographed at every glamorous angle. This year’s ceremony was no different, as stars walked the red carpet in everything from Jean Paul Gaultier and Belanciaga gowns to Versace and Vera Wang evening dresses.
Among the trends seen Sunday evening were a slew of red colored gowns as well as many dresses in royal purple hues. According to the Associated Press, Miley Cyrus and Heidi Klum were some of the celebrities seen in the popular ruby-hued gowns.
Compared to the latest fashions of colorful prints seen on the runways this season, most stars were seen in more timeless, safe and classic gowns. The recent cancellation of other parties and the end of the writers' strike are possible factors responsible for the celebrities and their more traditional styled garments.
