Elton John Throws the Best Oscar Party

John threw a party for the stars Sunday while treating them to his own musical performance.
Almost as exciting as the Academy Awards ceremony are the lavish viewing and after-parties held by Hollywood’s hottest stars.
Vanity Fair usually throws the best party but decided to cancel a few weeks ago because of the writers strike, which still had not ended at the time. In the end, Elton John took the cake for the best Oscars party Sunday.
According to the Associated Press, 750 guests were in attendance at Elton John’s 16th annual viewing dinner and after-party, which benefited the Elton John AIDS Foundation. The party was located at the Pacific Design Center where A-list stars enjoyed a four-course meal and cocktails.
John walked around and welcomed each table to his party. Then, he continued to perform a set of 11 songs, the first time in years he has played a complete set with an entire band at one of his own parties.
