According to AP News, 37-year-old British supermodel Naomi Campbell was admitted for the removal of a small cyst.
A frequent visitor to Brazil, Naomi was admitted to a hospital Sunday night in Sao Paulo, under the care of one of Brazil's top specialists in infectious diseases. Why the need for a specialist of infectious disease for what is considered to be a simple procedure?
Dr. Jose Aristodemo Pinotti, a gynecologist, told the Associated Press by telephone that Campbell underwent abdominal surgery.
"I cannot reveal what Naomi had, nor how serious her condition was, but I can say I operated on her yesterday, that everything went smoothly and that she is completely cured and walking in her room," Pinotti said.
The hospital is refusing to comment on the 37-year-old model's condition, but her publicist, Jeff Raymond, confirms that Campbell is resting and "is looking forward to getting back to work."
