Semi-Pro Slams in #1 at Box Office
Will Ferrell's newest comedy, Semi-Pro, has come in at number 1 at the box office this weekend.
Box office predictions for the weekend are on Will Ferrell's side. Ferrell's newest comedy, basketball-themed Semi-Pro, has scored at the box office. Weekend predictions place Semi-Pro as pulling in about $30 million, not far from what his recent films, including Blades of Glory, have made. Blades brought in well over $100 million. Semi-Pro is Ferrell's latest ode to sports, a comedic and satirical slice of basketball life. The movie also interestingly has an R rating, rather than Ferrell's normal PG-13.
Other new films this weekend included Penelope, starring Christina Ricci and James McAvoy. Both Penelope and The Other Boleyn Girl are being estimated at each coming in under $10 million.
