Tina Fey’s new movie will open Tribeca Film Fest.

Former Saturday Night Live writer and performer, Tina Fey’s new film entitled Baby Mama, is set to open the Tribeca Film Festival on April 23, marking the film’s world premiere.

Tina Fey and current SNL cast member, Amy Poehler, star in the film which was produced by Lorne Michaels, creator of the popular sketch comedy show. The film was written and directed by Michael McCullers, a previous SNL writer.

Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal founded the Tribeca Film Festival to help the lower Manhattan community after Sept. 11, according to the Associated Press. Rosenthal said Baby Mama will be a perfect introduction to the festival because it reflects the festival’s loyalty to New York City by featuring the city’s most creative and well-liked talent.

The festival, enjoying its seventh year, will run through May 4.
