Whitney Houston to Release New Album
According to Reuters, Whitney Houston is currently recording tracks for a new album to be released later this year on BMG Label Group.
The album will be Houston's first original material since 2002. Clive Davis, CEO if BMG Label Group, announced during Billboard's Music & Money Symposium Thursday that the singer has already recorded four songs and will record four more by the end of this month.
So far, the album is untitled, but it is set to be released during the holiday season. Davis has stated that Houston is not going to compromise her personal style in order to fit into the popular hip-hop radio market.
New tracks include lyrics and production from Black Eyed Peas singer Will.i.am. and R&B singer Akon.
Houston's last album, entitled Just Whitney, was released in 2002 and reached No. 9 on the Billboard 200.
