Presley Suing British Tabloid

Presley will be suing the Daily Mail for calling her fat.
Lisa Marie Presley has decided to take her problems with the tabloids all the way to court.
According to People magazine, the daughter of the King will be suing the British tabloid, Daily Mail, for reporting that the actress was gaining weight and hinting that it may be from an “unhealthy appetite … like her father.”
Last week, Presley felt she was forced to admit that she was pregnant because of the speculation surrounding her weight gain. She was angered by being forced and wrote on her MySpace, “I have had to show my cards and announce under the gun and under vicious personal attack that I am in fact pregnant.”
Now, Presley’s lawyer is saying that, “My client is deeply upset and offended by this article, especially as it was widely published just as she and her family were meant to be celebrating her happy news.” Her lawyer will be taking the case to court and since it is in England, the chance that Presley will win the case is great. A top England law expert, Mark Stephens says, “For an observation that would not be actionable in the USA, she will undoubtedly be recovering damages in London.”
