Michael Moore Interviewed Beheading Victim Nick Berg

Michael Moore contacts family of Nick Berg to offer them copy of interview.

While making his new movie Fahrenheit 9/11, Michael Moore filmed a 20 minute interview with Nicolas Berg, the American contractor beheaded in Iraq. Although the clip does not appear in the finished movie, Mr. Moore's office has confirmed its existence. In a statement released to the press, they said: "We are dealing privately with the family." Mr. Moore himself was not available for comment.

A spokesman for the Berg family said that Mr. Moore called to offer them a copy of the interview for approval before releasing it to the press. The contents of the film, when it was filmed and why it wasn't used isn't known.

Shown in a grisly video posted on a website on May 11, Mr. Berg's decapitation shocked the world.

Michael Moore's controversial movie about the Bush Administration and Iraq won international attention when it won "Palme d'Or" at this year's Cannes Film Festival. It also made news when Disney refused to allow subsidiary Miramax release the movie for U.S. distribution.
