Emmy Awards Move to Nokia Theatre
The Emmy Awards have found a new home.
The Emmy Awards have found a new home, in the Nokia Theatre. The new Nokia Theatre, located in downtown Los Angeles, has scored a 10-year deal with the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Starting this September, when the Emmys are slated to be shown, the award ceremony will move from its current home at the Shrine Auditorium, to the Nokia Theatre. The deal will last for 10 years, and then it will be decided whether the awards will continue to be housed at the new entertainment house. The Nokia Theatre has a seating capacity of a little over 7,000. This year's Emmy Awards will be the 60th annual celebration of television's biggest stars, and a theatre of its own will be a fitting gift for the celebration.
