Spears Must Pay $375,000 in Ex-Husband's Legal Fees
When Britney Spears first married Kevin Federline, there were some who joked that she would end up footing all the bills. Now that the two are divorced, you'd think the jokes could end, but not quite.
According to the Associated Press, a court commissioner ordered Spears on Monday to pay $375,000 in legal fees accrued by Kevin Federline. Federline has been locked in a child-custody dispute with Spears ever since their divorce in 2006. The couple have two young children together.
Los Angeles Court Commissioner Scott Gordon, who has long been involved arbitrating the dispute, ordered Spears to shell out the dough and cover Federline's legal fees. It is not known yet whether Spears will indeed cover the fees, or dispute them. Spears has recently been under the legal protection of her father, who has been her assigned conservator.
