It’s Over for “Jericho” Again

CBS cancelled “Jericho” for the second time.
Fans of the CBS Drama/Sci-Fi series Jericho will be disappointed to know that the show will come to an end once again. Last year, after finding out the show had been cancelled, die-hard fans sent tons of peanuts (the idea came from one of the show’s episodes) to CBS’s offices to try and get the studio to renew it for another season. The plan worked and Jericho came back to air for six episodes, starting in February. Despite the valiant effort from fans to resurrect the show for a full season, Jericho’s ratings were even significantly lower than its first season, which caused the network to pull the plug. CBS announced on Friday that the season’s seventh episode, which will air on Tuesday, will be its last. There were two finales that were taped, one that wrapped up the show and the other which was more of a cliffhanger. The show made two versions in hopes that there would be a season finale as opposed to a series finale.
CBS’s Entertainment President Nina Tassler said, after announcing the series finale date, “Without question, there are passionate viewers watching this program; we simply wish there were more. We thank an engaged and spirited fan base for keeping the show alive this long, and an outstanding team of producers, cast and crew that went through creative hoops to deliver a compelling, high-quality second season. ... We're proud of everyone's efforts.”
