Written by: John Neal

This DVD Dribble features the latest in action/thriller releases coming to DVD.

Magus

A renegade sorcerer's obsession with power makes public closely guarded magical secrets. But as the Magus seeks to attain the ultimate powers of wizardry, Felix, the ancient healer, accepts the mission to protect the Wizard's Code. But the only way he can keep Magus from domination is to discover a way to transform his benign healing powers into a deadly force capable of stopping the most powerful wizard to walk the earth. Magus stars Lizzie Strain and Ron Fitzgerald.

The Haunting of Rebecca Verlaine

Rebecca Verlaine was the only survivor of a brutal massacre that destroyed her family. After waking from a two-year coma, Rebecca is adopted by her aunt and uncle, who try to protect her from her violent past. Ten years later, Rebecca is a normal, happy adult in a steady relationship and leading a stable life. That is until she begins to have disturbing visions. And while her memory is blank, the spirits that haunt her have not forgotten that fateful night long ago. The Haunting of Rebecca Verlaine stars Natacza S. Boon, James Matthews-Pyecka, Daryl Jackson and Bela B. Felsenheimer.

Southland Tales

From the creator of Donnie Darko comes the ultimate in post-apocalyptic films. After half of Texas is wiped out in a nuclear attack, America becomes a police state and a Marxist underground starts a revolution in California. Boxer Santaros (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) is an action star whose real life mirrors that of his movies. Krysta Now (Sarah Michelle Gellar) is a porn star who is trying to reinvent herself as a news pundit. And Roland Taverner (Sean William Scott) is an LAPD officer who has split in two and is trying to track down his other half. DVD extras include the featurette "USIDent TV: Surveilling the Southland" and the animated short, "This Is the Way the World Ends."

Conspiracy

MacPherson (Val Kilmer) is a wounded U.S. Marine who discovers a corporate conspiracy to run illegal immigrants out of an Arizona border town by any means necessary. After returning home from Iraq, MacPherson joins a comrade to work a ranch. But after arriving to Arizona, his friend has mysteriously vanished and none of the neighbors are talking. MacPherson puts his military training to use and uncovers a plot to run illegal aliens out of town, or killing them. Conspiracy also stars Gary Cole and Jennifer Esposito.

P2

Angela (Rachel Nichols) is a workaholic who finds her decision to work late on Christmas as having deadly consequences. After finishing one last deal, Angela rushes to her car in the parking garage to race home for dinner with her family. But her car refuses to start. A security guard helps her and offers to share his Christmas dinner in the garage, an offer the corporate leader laughs off. And when Angela comes to, she's tied to a chair and the security guard has other things in mind than just Christmas dinner. After escaping the guard's clutches, Angela must escape the prison of the underground parking garage if she hopes to celebrate Christmas again.
