A Celebrity Edition of “Family Feud” Will Air in Prime Time
26-Mar-2008

A celebrity edition of the popular game show is being produced by NBC.
Family Feud is heading to prime time.
American Idol producer Fremantle Media North America and NBC are preparing a celebrity edition of the classic game show and are aiming its prime-time airing as soon as this summer. Even though the popular show has been on TV for the past 30 years, the Feud has never aired during prime time.
NBC and Fremantle are keeping the details surrounding the prime-time version of Feud very quiet, with casting just beginning.
While one would logically think that there are only a few families that could take up the show’s five spots necessary per team (Lohans, Baldwins), it seems that Feud producers could also pit casts of one TV show against another. This would be a strategy that Feud has previously used. During its original airing, Feud featured theme weeks where stars of shows like Baywatch or American Gladiators competed against each other.
This move from NBC comes less than a week after CBS gave the green light to produce another set of prime-time episodes of The Price Is Right.
