Bon Jovi guitarist risks child endangerment charge.
Following his arrest for DUI on Tuesday, Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora could be charged with child endangerment.
According to People Magazine, Sambora was weaving on a road driving a Hummer in Laguna Beach, California, and was stopped by police just before 11 p.m. When approached by officers, it was apparent that he had two juveniles in the car, one being his ten-year-old daughter Ava, along with another woman.
Sambora faces the risk of being criminally charged with endangering two minors. However, the Laguna Beach Police Department states that they are still “actively investigating,” according to TMZ.
Laguna Beach Sgt. Jason Kravetz told both People and Us, “He smelled of alcohol,” but added that the guitarist was “quiet and cooperative and didn't cause any problems.”
Kravetz apparently observed as another officer conducted a series of sobriety tests, “The [other] officer formed the opinion that Mr. Sambora had been operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol. At this point there's no indication of drugs,” and claimed that Sambora’s blood test results will be revealed in a week.
Sambora was arrested, but was later released from custody at about 4 a.m., and is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on May 7.
