A spokesperson has confirmed that divorce papers have been filed in a San Francisco court by the comedian’s second wife.
Reuters is reporting that Marsha Garces Williams, Robin Williams’s second wife, is citing irreconcilable differences in her recently filed divorce petition.
The Oscar winning actor and comedian married his ex-nanny, Marsha Garces Wiliams, in 1989 and they have two children of their own.
In addition to his Oscar for best supporting actor in Good Will Hunting, Williams has also been nominated three times for a best actor Academy Award. Williams became a household name in the 1970s for his starring role in the television show Mork and Mindy.
His wife founded Blue Wolf Productions in 1992 and produced the movies Mrs. Doubtfire and Patch Adams. She also produced the HBO special, “Robin Williams: Live on Broadway,” which earned a Grammy Award for best comedy album and sold more than 1 million DVDs and videos, according to her bio on the Agassi Foundation’s Web site. Williams serves on the board of directors for Agassi’s foundation.
