Although Chikezie Eze did make it as a top 10 finalist, the singer was the latest sent packing after a bad performance.
E! Online reports that Chikezie Eze was the most recent “Idol” cast off the hit reality show, although the day after his elimination, Eze was insisting, "Things couldn't have gone better."
"Last night, I was glad that none of the other guys had to go home," Eze said during a conference call Thursday. "Things couldn't have gone better. I didn't have to say goodbye to anyone. And they didn't have to say goodbye to me, because they'll see me on tour."
Eze was sent packing after both Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell criticized his rendition of Luther Vandross's "If Only for One Night."
Following his performance, Eze stated, "I knew I was in the bottom three. I knew I was going home."
Despite his shortcomings, Eze’s performance of the Beatles' "She's a Woman" remains one of the season's highlights and an iTunes top seller.
When asked about his future, Eze stated, "I'm weighing my options, and I think it would be best if I moved on."
