MTV Celebrating 20th Anniversary of “Yo! MTV Raps”

MTV revisiting “Yo! MTV Raps,” 20 years later, with an all-star tribute.
Reuters reports that MTV is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Yo! MTV Raps with tribute programming scheduled across all of the company's stations this April.
MTV is planning to revise its current shows to include classic videos from the Yo! MTV Raps era. At the end of April, there will be a special airing of Yo! countdown shows, where the top moments from the iconic show will be featured.
MTV has enlisted the help of revolutionary hip-hop artists Fab 5 Freddy, Ed Lover, Andre "Dr. Dre" Brown and T-Money in contributing to the program.
MTV.com has announced that Yo! MTV Raps will be a feature on the site; highlighting artist interviews and examining the historical context of the show in the development of the hip-hop movement.
Likewise, Think.MTV.com, is set to auction off a 12' x 15' canvas from the original Yo! MTV Raps set that has been signed by various artists, with the proceeds going to Music Has Power.
