Curry Coming Back for Junior Season
30-Mar-2008
Written by: E. Van Dril

The 6'2" guard will return to Davidson.

Moments after his Davidson team had their season, and Cinderella run throughout the NCAA tournament, ended by Kansas, Davidson star guard Stephen Curry said that he will return for his junior season, according to SI.com.

“I’m definitely coming back next year,” Curry said in the team’s locker room. “I don’t think I’m ready for [the NBA].”

Curry is the son of former NBA player Dell, who was a sharp-shooting guard most notably for the Charlotte Hornets.

Stephen was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Midwest Regional after pouring in 33 points against Wisconsin and 35 against Kansas. His win makes him the first player to claim the award on a team that did not win the regional to advance to the Final Four since 1994.

Curry also said that he will make the move to point guard next year because the nation’s leader in assists, Jason Richards, is graduating. This move will also better prepare Curry for his career in professional basketball.
