Written by: Jessica Dines

Ellen DeGeneres is no longer co-hosting “Idol Gives Back.”

According to Access Hollywood, Ellen DeGeneres will no longer be hosting this year’s Idol Gives Back with Ryan Seacrest. The adored TV host has cancelled on the American Idol charity event because the production schedule conflicts with her show.

Idol Gives Back is set to tape its event this Sunday. Monies raised will go to the Children’s Defense Fund, the Children’s Health Fund, and Save the Children. Additionally, The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis will receive assistance from the funds raised during the charity event. Malaria No More and Make It Right are also included in the list of organizations who will be aided with Idol Gives Back.

The show will air on April 9 on Fox and will include musicians such as Bono, Mariah Carey, Maroon 5, Fergie and Carrie Underwood. Other celebrity appearances will include Brad Pitt, Robin Williams and Reese Witherspoon.
