Patrick Swayze Back on the Mend

After sadly being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last month, Patrick Swayze is on the mend.

The Dirty Dancing star has been undergoing chemotherapy and is pleased with the results.

In an interview with People magazine, Swayze and his wife, Lisa Niemi, expressed their gratitude towards the public's response to the news, and to the response to the treatment.

"We're thrilled and grateful for the positive response Patrick has shown towards his treatment," Lisa gushed. "Also, we can't help but feel that all the prayers, meditations and good thoughts sent his way by everyone has made a difference. Thank you!"

Swayze's physician also spoke of his pleasure towards his patient's increasing health and "excellent" response to the chemotherapy.

"Patrick Swayze continues to respond well to his treatment for pancreatic cancer. Because of his excellent response, he will continue the same therapy at Stanford."
