Dylan's Musical Triumphs Recognized by Pulitzer Prize Board
Bob Dylan is known for making a difference in the world through music and the Pulitzer Prize board recognized him for that. At the 92nd Pulitzer Prizes in Journalism, Letters, Drama and Music, Dylan became the first rock'n'roll star to be honored by the board with a Pulitzer Prize award.
E! News reports that the announcement of the awards were made at Columbia University in New York on Monday. Dylan received an honorary award for "his profound impact on popular music and American culture, marked by lyrical compositions of extraordinary poetic power."
Normally, the award for a musician would go to a classical or jazz artist, but it seems that Dylan has proven to the board of voters, through his 40-year career, that he deserved the award. The award is not his first, obviously. He has 10 Grammys, a Golden Globe, Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame plaque and an Oscar.
