Poker in Film and Life
11-Apr-2008
Written by:

Last night I watched the movie Rounders with Matt Damon and Edward Norton. If you've never seen it, Rounders is about a reformed gambler who returns to high-stakes Poker to help a friend pay a loan shark. As a fan of Texas Hold 'Em, I enjoyed watching Rounders. But as much I liked watching a movie about Poker, I like playing even more. I play Online Poker on a regular basis. I was worried about adding my credit card information at first, the state of the art security technology eased those fears. And once I got started playing Poker Online I felt right at home. In many ways playing Poker on the Internet is a lot easier than playing with actual cards. No matter how fast the pace, the automatic counter lets me know exactly how many chips I need to call and what would make the next raise. But the best part of playing poker on the Internet is I can play whenever I want. And in today's high-tech world with a Wi-Fi signal just about everywhere I go, I can play at my favorite coffee shop while enjoying an afternoon espresso or at the airport while I'm waiting for a connecting flight. So if you like poker as much as I do, pop in a DVD of Rounders or ante up at the virtual casino.
