Restraining Order Against Spears’s Former Manager Extended
16-Apr-2008
Written by: Mallory Groff

The restraining order against Sam Lutfi has been extended until July 31.

A restraining order against Britney Spears’s former friend and manager has been extended. According to Reuters, a judge extended the restraining order against Sam Lutfi that requires him to stay 250 yards away from Spears. The order will stay in place until July 31.

This is the second time the order has been extended since it was put in place in February. Both Lutfi and Spears were not in court and both of their attorneys agreed to the extension.

Spears’s lawyer told the court, “We believe this is in the best interests of Miss Spears.” Lutfi’s spokesman, Michael Sands, said this statement after court on behalf of his client, “Sam and the family are cooperating and trying to do what's best for Britney.”

Lutfi’s influence on Spears first came into question after the two had a fight in front of her house early this year. After Spears was hospitalized, Lynne Spears accused Lutfi of drugging her daughter—a claim which Lutfi admitted to, but said it was only in his attempt to help Britney.

Since the restraining order was first put in place, Lutfi has seemed to shy away from the spotlight.
