Tom Cruise's Son to Star in New Movie
Connor Cruise is looking to join the family business. The 13-year-old son of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman has caught the acting bug, and will soon be showing off his chops for audiences. Access Hollywood reports that Connor will be playing a youngster in the upcoming film, Seven Pounds. The upcoming drama will have Connor Cruise playing a teenage version of Will Smith. Smith and Tom Cruise are friends, though it was reported by People that Cruise still had to audition for the role. A source told People that Connor's father was elated by his son's success at landing the small role: "Tom is so proud of Connor. . . . He's proud of him for really doing this on his own."
Connor Cruise is the African-American adopted son of superstar actors Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. They also adopted their daughter, Isabella Cruise. After over 10 years of marriage, Kidman and Cruise officially split in August of 2001. Since then, both Cruise and Kidman have remarried, Cruise to actress Katie Holmes, and Kidman to singer Keith Urban. Both Connor and Isabella were reportedly at their parents respective weddings.
