Singer Amy Winehouse to Face Investigation over an Assault

A 38-year-old man claims to have been assaulted by Amy Winehouse, who voluntarily agreed to police questioning.

According to BBC News, singer Amy Winehouse is to report to London police for questioning of an alleged assault. "Police have confirmed a 38-year-old man claimed he was assaulted by a woman, aged 24, in the Chalk Farm area," says BBC. No further information has been released about the claim.

Winehouse married Blake Fielder-Civil last May, who will also be spending some time in the court. He is set to be tried on June 2 for his charges of assault of James King of Risley, pub landlord in Derbyshire, and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. The case is believed to have been plotted by Fielder-Civil, but he is pleading not guilty to both charges.

During an earlier hearing, Fielder-Civil was given a warning for trying to communicate with a woman observing the trial. The woman, who was also warned by court officials, later claimed to be a close friend of his. Winehouse was not present at the trial.
