Spears and Hilton on Blast
25-Apr-2008
Written by: Melanie Sutrathada
Author, Karen Dawn, slams Britney Spears and Paris Hilton for their animal purchasing impulses, in her new book.
The author of the animal-rights tome, Thanking the Monkey: Rethinking the Way We Treat Animals, utilizes the book to chastise Paris Hilton and Britney Spears for “impulse pet buying,” according to FOXNews. Dawn writes, “We’ve already seen Paris go through dogs faster than mojitos, and I bet nobody warned Britney that California might soon force drivers to keep dogs safely restrained in vehicles — like babies.” Over the past few years, Hilton’s menagerie has included a kinkajou named baby Luv, a Rottweiler, Tyson, and Chihuahuas Tinkerbell and Bambi. One not to be outshined, Spears has had three Chihuahuas, a parakeet, and a Yorkie named London. Karen Dawn slams the duo, raging, “An impulse purchase of a companion for the next 15 years? . . . Nobody expects them to have the dogs much longer than 15 months.” Can the two celebrities stifle their animal purchasing impulses, before they become out of control completely?
