Miley Cyrus Caught in Photo Scandal, Again

According to the New York Times, 15-year-old Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus has been caught in another photo scandal. This one, however, is a professional, topless shot in the June issue of Vanity Fair, shot by their photographer, Annie Leibovitz. Questions fly over whether or not Disney will take a hit with the release of the photo.

The photo shows Cyrus with a sheet covering her chest, and she said in a statement: "I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed. I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologize to my fans who I care so deeply about."

She added in the article that she saw the photo as artsy, not skanky, and that Leibovitz had wanted her to do the shot. Now, Cyrus hopes her fans, and their parents, will still support her. Most of the three million viewers of her Disney show, Hannah Montana, are between the ages of 6 and 14, and blog writer Lin Burress claims, "Parents should be extremely concerned."

Disney will continue to air the show, but the president of entertainment for the Disney Channel, Gary Marsh, said to Portfolio magazine, "For Miley Cyrus to be a 'good girl' is now a business decision for her. Parents have invested in her a godliness. If she violates that trust, she won't get it back."
