De la Fuente Hurt While Dancing
Dancing with the Stars contestant Cristißn de la Fuente couldn't finish his performance on Monday night's show because of an injury he received during his second dance.
The 34-year-old Chilean soap star was dancing the samba with partner Cheryl Burke when he pulled a muscle in his arm and had to stop in the middle of the performance. Burke told People, "When we were dancing I fell back into his arms and I heard something crack." As a result, the couple decided to forego the lift.
After coming back from commercial, de la Fuente was holding an ice pack to his arm and told host Samantha Harris, "It hurts the arm and it hurts that I couldn't do it, you know, it's tough."
The on-site medical technician diagnosed him with "a severe muscle cramp."
De la Fuente and Burke received a score of 25 for their first dance, the Viennese waltz, and a 21 on what the judges saw of their samba. The couple earned a total of 46 out of a possible 60 points for the night.
