Tina Turner Tours Again
According to the Associated Press, Tina Turner announced that she will be setting out for her first tour in the United States in seven years. She appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show to break the news of her plans to hit the road beginning Oct. 1 in Kansas City. Tickets go on sale May 12.
The episode was taped Saturday in Las Vegas and had a crowd of 4,000 people. The show will be broadcast May 8. Turner was a guest of the show along with singer-actress legend Cher.
Turner is 68 years old and Cher is 61 years old. When asked by Winfrey how the stars feel about getting older in show business, Cher responded, "I think it sucks." The remark was released in advance by Harpo Productions.
"That number doesn't mean a thing," Turner said. "It just doesn't."
