Barbara Walters has told Oprah all about her former affair with a married U.S. Senator.

Fresh off the heels of getting Cher to gush about her affair with Tom Cruise, it's now being reported that Oprah scored another big hit with Barbara Walters. According to the AP, in a recent interview, Walters spilled all about her 1970s era fling with a married United States Senator from Massachusetts. Walters and Senator Edward Brooke had a relationship that spanned a number of years. In the transcript of the Oprah Winfrey show, Walters described friends who cautioned her to break up with the senator, before both of them were publicly ruined. Walters described Brooke as "exciting," and said "he was brilliant."
