Sex Talk at a Hefty Price
FCC proposes fines for an indecent Howard Stern show.
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is threatening to fine Infinity Broadcasting $1.5 million for content in a 2003 Howard Stern show aired by 18 of the company's stations. The show included alengthy and detailed discussion about anal sex.
Last month, Clear Channel Communications agreed to a settlement of $1.75 million for the same Howard Stern show, setting the record for the largest fine for indecency brought against a broadcasting company by a government. In April, the network removed the Howard Stern Show from its stations.
Stern has commented that the FCC chairman is "a crackpot."
