New Nine Inch Nails, for Free

Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor released a new album on the Internet, for free.

New Nine Inch Nails music has released, again, straight to the Internet, but unlike the previous Internet release, this is all free. The L.A. Times reported that the album, The Slip, is more "song-oriented" than the last, Ghosts I-IV, which only released a few months ago. Frontman Trent Reznor announced on their Web site, "Thank you to our fans," and included a big and bold, "We are giving away the new Nine Inch Nails album one hundred percent free. . . ."

The music is available in various computer formats (MP3, FLAC, WAV), but a vinyl edition will release in July. Reznor brought in over $1.6 million in one week from Ghosts I-IV, and hopes to keep the profit up, despite the NIN split with Interscope. Since the split, Reznor has released two rounds of songs in three months, learning his musical career is more about getting his music out, rather than making the most money.

The new album is available by providing a valid email address where a downloading link will be sent. The sign-up form can be found on the Nine Inch Nails Web site.
