Avril Lavigne Postpones Concerts Due to Illness
6-May-2008
Written by: Mandy Cohen

Avril Lavigne had to postpone six concerts in her “Best Damn Tour” due to developing acute laryngitis, a common illness caught by singers because of vocal overuse.

According to BBC News, she has postponed shows in Anaheim, Universal City, Santa Barbara, San Jose - all in California - and Spokane and Everett in Washington.

She notified her fans via her Web site saying: “Hey Guys, I am home right now taking it easy. I have been sick this whole tour, and now I have lost my voice. I have never cancelled a show in my whole career and just had to for the first time ever. This sux!

“I am so sorry. I have been on the road for 60 days straight.”

Avril’s getting a lot of bad publicity for cancelling her concerts, but what can she do? Unless her fans want her to go up and mime all her songs, they should stop complaining.

Avril is only into her second month of her five month world tour! Let’s hope that she gets better soon.
